An Introduction to ACEs and Family Wellness
$10.00
To support early childhood professionals in promoting family wellness, The Consortium for Resilient Young Children (CRYC) and Families Program (RCFP) partnered with Joining Forces for Children (JFfC) to launch a Family Wellness Project. Recognizing that early childhood professionals are uniquely positioned to support families, the project aim was to develop tools that would support professionals in assessing and responding to family stress. One of the tools developed was a family Wellness Survey (FWS). In practice, this survey is used to help professionals build a deeper understanding and work alongside families to prevent or mitigate the long-term impact of ACEs.
To assist professionals in the use of the Family Wellness Survey, we have developed a series of on-line and in-person trainings. This first module is designed as an overview of family wellness and is intended to help professionals:
Training Objectives:
- Recognize the impacts of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) on children and families.
- Understand how strengths and resources can buffer risks to help families succeed.
