What is the Community of Learners?

The Community of Learners is a series of 1-hour virtual sessions focused on various topics related to protective factors.

All sessions will take place virtually on Teams. Each session contains six 1-hour trainings. There are two options for the series:

Session #1: Tuesdays from 1:00 pm -2:00 pm beginning September 16

Session #2: Fridays from 10:00 am – 11:00 am beginning November 7

Participants may take individual classes and do not need to attend each one in the series. 1 hour of Ohio-Approved credit will be granted upon completion of the session.

Young children need caring adults and positive environments.

Young children thrive in environments that are emotionally nurturing and supported by caring adults. Social-emotional development is crucial during early childhood, as it forms the foundation for how children understand themselves, manage feelings, and interact with others. By fostering these skills early, caregivers and educators can significantly influence children’s long-term well-being and success.

Topics in the Community of Learners Series:

  • Creating a Supportive Environment
  • Maintaining A Supportive Environment
  • Partnering with Parents
